Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma injections is a technique aimed at stimulating natural collagen production in the skin by injecting the area with a concentrate of growth factors naturally occurring in blood.

Increasing natural production of collagen in the skin helps to reduce existing fine lines and wrinkles, scars or stretch marks. Increased collagen improves the firmness, elasticity and texture of the skin and helps with skin tightening and rejuvenation.

To promote collagen production in the skin this technique uses injections of your own activated platelets – a type of blood cells involved in injury healing and rich in growth factors promoting regeneration.

Platelets are collected from a blood sample taken from your vein just minutes prior to procedure (like having a blood test). The blood sample is processed in a centrifuge which helps to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood.

Platelets are then injected with a fine needle into the skin that needs treatment, where they can stimulate new collagen production.

This natural process will take place over the following weeks, and will help to produce smoother, tauter, younger looking skin. Repeating the treatment several times 4-6 weeks apart helps to achieve more prominent results.
